THE GENDER SIGNIFICANCE OF THE AQUARIAN AGE

Our society personalizes and materializes every bit of knowledge and truth that it comes across. While this is the natural characteristic of the feminine principle it nevertheless, disturbs me that nothing can be seen through masculine eyes or even considered with a gender perspective. While ruminating over this matter I realized that even the transition into the Age of Aquarius has been heralded through feminine, passive, and materialistic thought—It’s something wonderful that will just happen to make the world “nice” while we just sit on our behinds and wait for the event.

The transit from the Piscean age into the Aquarian age is a gender dynamic that I have not seen anyone address, most likely because we live in society that has little understanding of the universal principle of gender. While I have only a layman’s understanding of astrology and astronomy, I do understand the universal dynamics of gender and believe I would be remiss to our organization and the propagation of its message if I did not relate this transition from one age to the other, to gender.

The Aquarian Age has received much attention during the past 50 years since its public introduction into society by the hippy movement. The song The Dawning of the Age of Aquarius, theater presentations, magazine articles, art exhibits, and books have trumpeted the coming of the new age. Astrology, numerology, clairvoyance, mysticism, the occult, holistic healing, shamanism, and palmistry have the designation of “new age” subjects, even though they have existed since the beginning of our present age.

Some say the Aquarian Age began 50 years ago, some say it began in 2000, and others say it is 500 years away. Regardless of whose calculations are correct, the slipping of the Solar system backward into another zodiacal sign occurs about every 2,300 years and is called its precession. We have been in the Piscean Age for the past 2,000 years or so and are now experiencing the ending of that age in preparation for the “new age’ of Aquarius.

The sign Pisces is a feminine, mutable, water sign. The code name given to Pisces by astrologers is “I believe.” The Christian era, which began at the beginning of the Piscean age emphasized water (baptisms, fish, and fisherman), and salvation through faith (belief). The Piscean personality being mutable and feminine receptive, requires authority figures for it to function properly. All aspects of Western society are built upon authority whether, religious, governmental, legal, medical, educational or scientific.

The Western influenced Piscean society has no ability to resolve problems or issues. Feminine characteristics respond to conditions, adapt to them, and express their feelings about them; they do not change them. Hence the writers and speakers of today elaborate on the wrongs of society but are unable to articulate what needs to be done to bring about positive change. All of the political parties and activists are impotent. They have no ideas. The self-emasculated Western male’s ability to lead has been destroyed. The change that people desire will not take place.

Without masculine direction chaos develops. Consequently the authority structure of Western society keeps enacting more laws and becomes increasingly involved in the private lives of people in order to maintain some semblance of order. Yet with each usurpation of individual control a new need develops for still more authoritative influence. Western society is close to the point of complete tyranny; which will be the final form of government before its total and complete demise. Fortunately the Age of Aquarius is dawning.

The sign Aquarius is a masculine, fixed, air sign. The code name given to Aquarius is “I know.” The Aquarian personality only accepts what it can understand or experience. As an air sign it emphasizes the intellect, and as a fixed sign it is goal oriented and exhibits the constancy and reliability necessary to bring about these goals. The Aquarian psyche has a universal outlook and will work for the betterment of humankind. As a masculine sign it has the ability to deal with the unseen and the virility to initiate change.

The Western concept of the dawning of the Age of Aquarius envisions an increase of the feminine influence, the feeling of the pulse of mother earth, and the equality of the sexes (with the women being just a little more equal). Instead, I believe the present feminine oriented Western society will collapse and/or be blown away and then be replaced by a masculine oriented rebuilding that will strive for the betterment of humankind and a return of an understanding and implementation of the natural patriarchal structure.

Western society will not be “fixed,” it will come down. Pisces resides in the 12th house, which is also known as the house of self-undoing, and Western man has with his own hands cast himself into destruction. Society will be rebuilt with Aquarian overtones.

This is my brief gender interpretation of the transition that is taking place as we leave Pisces and enter Aquarius. Most likely you will not readily find a corroborating viewpoint for reasons that I have mentioned.
